When Lou loses a sentimental earring on a night out, she begins a journey of search and discovery in which she finds more than just a piece of jewellery. “This is why I cry at parties” is a bittersweet coming of age film that follows Lou, a first-year university student, as she attempts to navigate a freshers house party. As she looks for her lost earring Lou is visited by the ghost of her past self. Through a series of conversations Lou comes to realise that she must discover who she is now that she is growing up and changing.
